Who else is tired of seeing social media feeds inundated with headlines like:
“10 Reasons Why Your B2B Leads Aren’t Turning Into Sales”
“31 Easy Ideas to create Content your Customers want”
“10 Easy Steps to Social Business.”
Mind you, these are all real headlines I found within 3 minutes of logging on to Twitter, but it applies to almost every social media channel around today. Also, keep in mind I go out of my way to avoid following people who peddle this type of nonsense and it still makes its way into my feeds.
Now imagine you’re a business owner who was just told you need to be utilizing social media to generate more leads and conversions. How hard would it be to decipher what you should be focusing on and what needs to fall by the wayside?
These “X many steps to Success” articles are akin to the infomercials you see on TV that are trying to sell you some rinky-dink piece of crap that looks amazing at 3:30 at night. Here’s a little secret: There is no easy road to instant success. That doesn’t just apply to digital marketing and the web. That is a life rule.
If you want something to work or you want to really build something meaningful it requires two things: time and effort. Don’t be lulled into thinking that you just need to do a few things and then success will find you. If your life has worked like that, please get in contact with me today so I can learn the wisdom of your ways.
My overral point is this: Take the time to learn about where the web is, where it came from and where it’s going. Trying to find a quick fix and easy tips will only pull the wool further over your eyes and ultimately, put you at a serious disadvantage.
